Be IN (clusive) Winchester Festival events

Be IN! (clusive) Festival

The Festival is part of a European project which is co-funded by Erasmus+. The “Be Inclusive” project involves three European theatres working with actors who have intellectual disabilities. Find out more here. The project was deferred during the Covid pandemic - Divadlo Aldente hosted the first “Be IN!” festival in Brno during May 2022 and Blue Apple are hosting the second, welcoming our two sister European theatres to Winchester for a week.  In addition to the performances there is a group of researchers who are asking Socratic questions about the nature of performance by artists with learning disabilities.  We welcome journalists to join us in discussions with the researchers. See the Socratic questions here: https://beintheatres.com/en/interaction/socratic-questions/

Is it open to the public?

We have a small number of free tickets available to the public for the performances. Entry is strictly by booking in advance.

 University of Winchester

The University of Winchester is very kindly hosting the event and providing educational enrichment to their participating students. Blue Apple Theatre is Artist in Residence at the University of Winchester.

Tickets for this event are unrestricted and freely available to anyone in the learning disability arts sector. It is a hybrid event hosted at the University of Winchester or accessible online via MS Teams Events. It presents an opportunity for the global learning disability performing arts sector to share success stories and challenges post pandemic. We are delighted to have representatives from leading theatre companies in the sector from England, Wales, Scotland, Norway, Greece, Poland, Czech Republic and Australia - and interest from some US theatres too.  Please share among your colleagues and other learning disability arts companies.
