Fresh from recent acclaim with productions of Lashings of Ginger Beer, Macbeth and The Wizard of Oz, Blue Apple now looks at George Orwell’s Animal Farm through its own prism and re-tells the story as only this unique theatre company can.

Join the inhabitants of Manor Farm when they take over and remake it in their own image. Sing along with ‘Beasts of England’ and obey the seven commandments. Comrades, you will laugh and you will cry… You’ll think that letting pigs run society is a really, really bad idea!

Nearly eighty years after the publication of the novel, perhaps as pertinent now as it ever has been, this story still has the power to teach us all something about abuses of power and social justice. Academics have pored over it for decades, readers have drawn historical parallels and films have been made, but no study is really complete until Blue Apple shines a new light on the text.

Faithful to the spirit of Orwell but with a special Blue Apple twist, this is not a show to stroke your chin to but to laugh out loud at – it’s satire, after all, and designed to make us laugh…

Sections of this show may indeed be ‘revolting’ but, Brothers and Sisters, always remember that, “all shows are equal, but some shows are more equal than others”!

Image designed by Rich Williams.

The show is child-friendly but not created for children so we suggest it would best suit people 10 years and over.
