An inclusive adaptation of Journey to the West
Blue Apple Theatre’s artistic director Richard Conlon is in Beijing collaborating with Chen Ran and Intellectual Heart Theatre Company on a unique adaptation of the Chinese classic Journey to the West. The piece, co-created with eight young adult performers with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will be staged at the striking 798CUBE exhibition space.
Part of the Luminous Festival — China’s pioneering non-profit inclusive arts festival, now in its latest edition — the project is supported by the British Council’s Connections Through Culture grant, fostering cultural exchange and inclusion.
