Brought back to life after first being created in 2019, Frankenstein is presented at the St Stephen’s School Lyceum in Rome by the UK’s Blue Apple Theatre. A hybrid live/recorded production, you’ll never see this story in the same light again after watching the Blue Apple treatment.
A cast of six on stage - and many others recorded - show this tale from a very particular angle; this is the ultimate ‘outsider’ narrative told by a cast made up of people traditionally kept ‘outside’ of society. Blue Apple's adaptation puts its faith in the genius of Mary Shelley and goes right back to the source for this timely version. Like the creature himself, forget what you think you know, bring an open mind and prepare to have your eyes opened.
Two performances will take place at St Stephen’s School and the company will run a workshop looking at the themes in the piece, drawing contemporary resonances in the text that might reasonably be considered as the first work of Science Fiction.
