About the Queen’s Baton relay

The Queen's Baton relay is a relay around the world held prior to the beginning of the Commonwealth Games. The baton carries a message from the Head of the Commonwealth, currently Queen Elizabeth II. The relay traditionally begins at Buckingham Palace in London as a part of the city's Commonwealth Day festivities.

Blue Apple runs a dance programme for adults who have learning disabilities. It is designed to be a fun and creative means of developing fitness and self-expression. Find out more here.

What to expect

The Queen’s Baton is arriving between 2pm-2.15pm and this is when the dance group will do their carnival routine around the athletics track with the relay and Baton holders following them.

The Queen’s Baton relay route

The relay began on 7 October 2021, with Her Majesty The Queen placing her Message to the Commonwealth into the Baton. The Baton is now on its 294-day long journey to every corner of the Commonwealth.
