This week we took advantage of the fine weather to take some photos of characters from The Wind in the Willows in preparation for our theatre production in June 2024.
Pete and Kate McAllister kindly provided their idyllic pastoral home and glamping site The Meadow Glamping in Broughton as the setting for the photo shoot.
Followed around by very friendly ducks we made our way around the site taking photos in different places which included a real gypsy caravan (lovingly restored by Kate), a canal boat, a wooden bridge curtained romantically with willow trees, a rowing boat and swathes of beautifully mown green grass.
Polly Perry arrived with an array of wonderful costumes and supported our actors as they transformed into woodland animal characters.
As Kenneth Grahame wrote in The Wind in the Willows: “..there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”
We hope you enjoy the selection of ‘Behind the Scenes’ photos below from the day.
