International Women’s Day - a spotlight on Blue Apple performer Anna who is leading conversations and showing the importance of valuing difference.

International Women’s Day promotes diversity, equity and inclusion and celebrates places where difference is valued. Today we spotlight Blue Apple performer Anna. Anna leads our Apple Talk performer forum and she is taking part in a national Transforming Leadership programme to ensure that learning disabled performers are included in leadership conversations. To support this Anna has been doing a placement by attending and adding her voice to the Blue Apple Board of Trustees. She is on the interview panel for trustee recruitment and has asked questions in two recent interviews.

Anna said: “I have the opportunity to contribute my opinion to important conversations which is good. I feel included and listened to. The trustees were helpful and quick to include me. It has built up my confidence.”
